How to Save Money when Purchasing a Washer and Dryer

Saving money has become so much easier with ENERGY STAR® washers and dryers. If you are in the market to purchase a washer or dryer make sure to look for the label that displays *Energy Star*

"Washers and dryers are 25 percent and 20 percent more efficient"

Benefits of Buying a Energy Star® Dryer

Clothes dryers that have earned the Energy Star use approximately 20% less energy than other models.
One of the most important benefits if all dryers that were sold in the United States were Energy Star certified, the energy cost of saving would grow to more than $1.5 billion each year and 22 billion pounds of annual carbon pollution would be prevented.
  • Get a shower of water savings.

New ENERGY STAR qualified clothes washers use advanced technology to dramatically reduce water use. Full-sized washers that have earned the ENERGY STAR use 10–20 gallons of water per load, compared to the 30–35 gallons used by a standard machine.
  • I see a big difference in the amount of water used in my newer front load washer. It is an *ENERGY STAR*. My washer before was not energy efficient. It was a top loader and there always was so much water in each load. With the front washer and new top loader models that are energy efficient you can see the difference when you are washing clothes. It is such a savings on your electric bill. It can save up to $45 on your utility bills. Now that is a great savings.
  • Long live your clothes.

Instead of twisting and pulling clothes around a turning agitator, front-load and advanced top-load clothes washers use sophisticated wash systems to gently flip and spin clothes through a reduced stream of water. This lengthens the life of often-washed items. Because they are so gentle, many models can safely clean silk, wool and other hand-washables. I do now wash my delicate clothes in the washer. I put it on delicate and it cleans them and keeps them in perfect shape.

Best Buy has a wide selection of Energy Star Appliances, you can see them all by visiting Best Buy: ENERGY STAR® certified products
Using these washers and dryers not only save us money and we get more use out of our clothes but most important it saves the environment.

  10. I only get Energy Star appliances these days. Living in a city like Phoenix, AZ electric bills are always super high due to using the AC all year round. So the rest of the appliances need to be efficient also.
