And if you haven't made the list just yet, read on and you will find out the top 10 New Year's resolutions that can help you make up your mind.

1. Lose weight

This is one of the most common wishes and in the same time a clear proof how hard New Year's resolutions can be. If you really think that you need to lose weight, it's about time you do it. But you need to understand that results are not going to happen overnight and it is important that you make certain changes. Inform yourself about the foods that you are eating and find out which ones can help you to achieve your goal.

2. Keep in touch

Research has proven how people who are more social live longer and more prosperous than the lonely ones. If you have excluded yourself from family and friends because of your lifestyle, it's time to reconnect. Organize your day so you can leave at least half an hour for a brief conversation with your loved ones.

3. Quit smoking

There is hardly a smoker who didn't try it, at least once. Because of that, you need to be persistent and continue your battle with this stinky and very dangerous habit. Try different methods and think about all the money that you can save.

4. Save more money

We all know how hard saving money actually is nowadays. Still, you should try to make some room for savings. Be clever about how to save, even the littlest each week can go a long way. Put your mind to it and we all can save for when we need it the most.

5. Lower your stress

Even though the stress can sometimes be useful because it works like an encouragement, the chronic stress can be very dangerous. It can lead to serious health problems like insomnia, depression and even heart diseases. Lots of work and so little time to rest as well as the poor nutrition and lack of social life - these are the most common causes of stress. If you want to change that, you know what to do.

Remember, it is all not about things that are hard to do, things you do not want to do. It is about things you would like to do in your life and improve and change.

6. Do good deeds

If you have the chance to help someone just do it and you will feel so much better. Also, it is scientifically proven that volunteering is good for the health and that people who do the good deeds are a lot more creative and resistant to stress.

7. Educate yourself

No matter your age, it's never too late for learning new things. So if you have some hidden wishes it's time to accomplish them. Diploma or a course can help your career, social life, confidence. Also, it can help you improve your memory.

8. Get some sleep

The good sleep is very important for your heath and the normal way of life. It is also very important for your body functions. Lack of sleep can disrupt your whole life and cause some serious health problems. Since everyones body requires a different amount of sleep, determine what you need each night and make that your goal. It will improve thinking, working etc.

9. Drink less alcohol

Even though we are constantly warned about alcohol problems, it is one of the most common New Year's resolutions. Drinking too much alcohol can influence your brain functions, but not in a good way. Also, it can lead to depression, memory loss, even heart attack. So be moderate and enjoy your glass but don't over do it.

10. Take a trip to your favorite destination

The pleasure of traveling lasts long after you unpack your suitcases. And we don't talk here about going to some luxurious destinations, but rather about some destination that can cheer you up. That kind of adventure will make the most positive influence on you in both private and business sphere of your life.

These are just some of the New Year's resolutions that you can incorporate into your own list of things you want to achieve in the year to come. And if you are having a hard time maintaining your resolutions, just know that you are not alone. Your family and friends can help you stay in the right state of mind for achieving all those things you've listed. If you fall down get right back up !!

  2. I've pretty much given up on resolutions because I never seem to follow through. I do, however, set goals and review them every year to see where I'm at. Great ideas though.
